It was the middle of summer and the town was bustling with people, teenagers living life as they pleased since school wasn’t taking up their entire day. Caesar was settled behind the counter of her bakery, listening to the sound of children laughing in the park across the street. She was leaning against the counter, her eyes closed lightly as she listened to the world around her, ears twitching at any new sound falling within her range of hearing.
What a lovely, quiet little town. I’m glad I settled down here instead of Tokyo. Caesar thought to herself in her dreamy daze. She did look like she was about to passout outside of her thoughts, since she’d been standing there with her eyes closed for so long. They weren’t busy at all, so she didn’t really care anyways.
“What probably kept you safe was witnesses, or perhaps he already had a hand that he wasn’t ready to get rid of yet… either way… if anyone comes in here like that, you need to call me, and I’ll get my friends here to help. We’re all working together, using our stands to try and find him and fight him.”
He took her hand, and placed a contact card in it,
“Now that I know you’ve met him, you may be in real danger. You can come stay at my house if you want, you’d be safest there…” he said, looking off to the side and blushing a little bit, “I’m not gonna ask you to abandon your shop here, but you can’t be alone while he’s out. He might come try and find you. I couldn’t stand to let someone get hurt that I could have helped!”
His concern was genuine, and highly overriding her stand’s effects at the moment, though Star Platinum continued to pet the rabbit, and he did feel happy that he had the chance to save her.
Caesar couldn’t help her cheeks turning red and the little giggles escaping her lips as he ranted about wanting to keep her safe. Wanting to keep everyone safe. It warmed her heart to see him so passionate about it!
She held the card to her chest, nodding in response to his offer. “Okay, I’d be happy to come stay with you if it eases your mind. I might have a stand, but she’s not a… fighter, I guess you could say..”
Caesar gestures to the rabbit rolling around in Star’s arms and giving him little cheek licks for kisses. It seemed happy though, letting out little squeaks now and again as it adored being held so much.
He nodded, sighing in relief. He had Star Platinum put the bunny on the ground, and then called it back, “Okay. So just, uh… pack up your shop and close up for the day… and, um… I’ll bring you to my place. You can stay there until we capture and defeat Kira.”
He turned his back to her, and faced the door, “I’ll wait here, if anything startled you, I’ll be right there…”
He kept himself at the ready, unable to use Star Platinum at the moment because Jotaro was out using it. He would have to be more creative with what stand he uses to keep her safe on the way to his house… perhaps Red Hot Chili Peppers would be best suited for the task.
“Pack up my shop? Can we go to my house to get an overnight bag or something? I don’t exactly keep spare clothes here.” Caesar sets the paper down and hurries after him as he walks off.
“I don’t really need to clean anything up either. Would you like to take some baked goods home as a thank you for protecting me?” Caesar gives him an innocent smile, grabbing onto his arm.
He nodded, “Yeah. I suppose we could stop by your place…” he replied, before looking back,
“Oh? Uh, no thank you. I don’t need any payment. I shouldn’t need to be rewarded for doing the right thing. You worked hard on those goods and I wouldn’t feel right taking money out of your pocket like that.”
He raised an eyebrow as she grabbed his arm, “Uh… we can get some food at my house, maybe watch a movie on TV if you want…?”
